Spring 2022
Greetings,
I hope you and yours are well. It seems life is moving on from restrictions and masks for the time being, but our pocketbooks are taking a hit at the gas pump and grocery store now. Life is and always will be constantly changing. We must be smart, flexible and adapt for our greater good.
We have been upgrading the old log cabin since last July. The local Amish fellows have and continue to do a great job. There have been many changes and added features that extended the construction timeline, along with delays in supplies and services due to COVID. The large, covered porch, deck, covered back porch, and new siding make the Cabin look great. Inside the kitchen area was totally redone, a loft bedroom was added, and the main living area got a new, fresh look. Just two weeks ago it was decided to run water to the Cabin and that is already done. In fact, the Cabin welcomed its first guests last weekend. The Cabin, Tiny House, and Lower-Level Suite rentals are offered on Airbnb.
While we were running water lines, we kept going and started two outdoor shower stalls. And they are almost finished. Located past the two-sided outdoor toilet facility, each shower is equipped with a rain head and its own dressing area. A portable propane hot water heater will provide the desired hot water. Outside the showers is a large counter with two sinks and a mirror. These facilities mainly service the Tiny House, Cabin, Camping and Retreat guests.
The Pole Barn/Greenhouse is currently getting a spring cleaning to be ready for the upcoming Retreats and events. Speaking of Retreats, “Majik and Messages” is scheduled for May 21,2022 from 10AM to 3PM here at Burns Valley Herbals and Retreat. Jill Reed, Johanna Monko Geister, Heather Mulhollan, me, and possibly 2 more special presenters will be offering a variety of workshops, classes, and services. I will be offering a class “All About Lavender” along with hands on projects at Amethyst Retreat Center on June 18,2022. Several other workshops and vendors will be there Saturday and Sunday. I will also have plants and products for sale.
